Scanners, for example, must meet the highest demands for precise internal temperature control, vibration-free operation, performance, fire protection and X-ray resistance. Our high-performance products developed specifically for these purposes are used with great success by well-known manufacturers.

Machine and equipment manufacturing

The requirements for composite materials in machine and equipment manufacturing are very diverse. Therefore, our wide range of products includes solutions that are individually tailored to the respective applications. Depending on the intended use, our products are halogen-free, feature high mechanical, thermal and chemical resistance, are flame-retardant, have special antifriction properties or are very lightweight.

High-precision ball bearing cages, for example, have to withstand heavy loads at very high rotational speeds. Slides and vanes require particularly low friction and a low coefficient of thermal expansion, very tight tolerances, mechanical strength at elevated temperature, and chemical resistance.

We offer our proven high-tech products for machine and equipment manufacturing as tubes, laminates, or machined parts in a wide range of options.

Aerospace

Von Roll products have been approved and flying for many years. Our latest revolution is the EP200 resin system for the NxtGen corefiller and our NxtGen prepregs. Compared to phenol-based solutions, it impresses with improved processability and long storage stability at room temperature. Our new formulation is free of harmful substances such as anhydrides, phenols, and solvents. This also makes our solution particularly environmentally compatible. At the same time, it easily exceeds the stringent aviation standards for mechanical strength and fire protection.

Our aerospace products are designed for the most demanding mechanical applications while meeting our customers’ FST requirements and the FAR/EASA 25.853 regulation.

Paper industry

Doctor blades are used in paper machines to clean the paper cylinders. Von Roll offers these blades in almost all material combinations. The decisive factor is which combination is best suited for the respective position and function in the machine.

As an expert in composite materials, we cover the complete range – and can respond with flexibility to special requests. Thus, we are also able to realize non-standard dimensions or custom glass-carbon combinations (e.g. 3C solutions).

Our doctor blades are gentle on the cylinder surfaces and achieve optimum cleaning results. High temperature resistance and chemical-mechanical resilience also ensure very low material wear.
